Design Society present the Shenzhen chapter of our first major solo exhibition in China, Future You: Code and Soul, in partnership with 798CUBE. After its premiere at 798CUBE in Beijing, the exhibition is touring to Sea World Culture and Arts Center, Shenzen, China.
Design Society is an innovative cultural platform founded by China Merchants Shekou (CMSK) in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). It hosts China's first dedicated cultural design hub, designed by renowned Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki in the UNESCO City of Design, Shenzhen.
Showcasing some of our most iconic moving images and interactive works, the exhibition weaves together generative algorithms, dynamic visuals, and
sensing technologies to create an immersive space that invites audiences to imagine new futures for humanity, technology, and evolution.
Anchored in the concepts of code and soul, the exhibition confronts a profound question: as human behaviour is rendered into data and emotions are encoded, what forms of existence lie ahead? Algorithmic lifeforms evolve, a digital fashion show unfolds, and audience movements are transformed into digital reflections of the self. Gazing into the digital mirror, you encounter the “Future You.”
After its premiere at 798CUBE in Beijing, the exhibition is now touring to a second venue: Sea World Culture and Arts Center, Shenzen, China, designed by renowned Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki.
Exhibition dates:
798CUBE, Beijing – 28 June to 8 October 2025
Sea World Culture and Arts Center, Shenzen – 1 October 2025 to 1 March 2026
