Anthropomorphic, algorithmically generated characters

Friends features hundreds of unique, algorithmically generated characters. The artwork is adaptive to each architectural space, as the characters bounce and interact within their specific boundaries.

We designed software to create random combinations of shapes, colours and sizes, which know if they bump into each other or the walls around them. And we recorded each beep, pew and bop before transforming them into a responsive soundscape.

Friends continues our exploration into anthropomorphic design. What gives these curious beings personality are the eyes and voices. Just adding eyes and voices brings a living presence to this lively group.
